In a city teeming with life, who has time for the dead?
Meet Rosangela Blackwell, an embittered writer who just found out that she is a medium and that it’s her mission, whether she likes it or not, to assist tormented spirits and investigate other supernatural goings-on. She is assisted by the sardonic Joey Mallone, a ghost from the 1930s.
In the Blackwell Legacy, you are introduced to Rosangela as she meets Joey Mallone for the first time and is called upon to investigate a series of mysterious suicides at a local university. An enigmatic killer and a string of seemingly unconnected accidents set the background for Blackwell Unbound. Blackwell Convergence will have you investigating a film premiere that hides a bloody past and--last but not least!--in Blackwell Deception you’ll investigate why the customers of various street psychics seem to die under very mysterious circumstances.
New York, the city that never sleeps, is waiting for you to solve 4 gripping mysteries before it’s too late!
All four currently released games in the Blackwell series by Wadjet Eye Games. They are based on the Adventure Game Studio engine and come with a game executable and a small setup program. Each of the four games is bundled in a single installer (similar to the Might and Magic 6-Pack). Both Blackwell Legacy and Blackwell Unbound have been updated to the latest version of the AGS engine, and Blackwell Legacy includes improved voice over work with Rebecca Whittaker as Rosa.
Patches and Modifications
A Linux port of the Adventure Game Studio engine, which the Blackwell Bundle runs under is in development and currently in a usable, stable, pre-release state. See this forum thread on adventuregamestudio.co.uk for more information.
An AUR package for the Linux version of AGS can be found here. To run a game, you will need to run the GOG installer via wine and then from the command line run
ags /path/to/blackwell-install-dir. The game's Windows executable must be present for the game to run as it contains all of the game's resources.
